الوصف
This is an original 1954 State Loan (“Second Five-Year Plan”) bond certificate issued by the People’s Republic of Bulgaria, denominated at 40 leva and meant to help finance the socialist industrialization program. Printed in rich brown tones with red serial numbers, it’s surrounded by detailed vignettes of workers, agriculture, construction, dams, and factories — classic socialist-realist imagery that turned a financial document into propaganda for the new economy. Pieces like this survived in far smaller numbers than ordinary banknotes, and today they’re collected for their Cold War history, Eastern Bloc graphic design, and link to Bulgaria’s post-war development.
