Phoencia Bronze coin of Roman Emperor Elgbalus year 2q8 to 222 AD. Phoenicia, Tyre, Elagabalus, AE 32, 18.01g CAES M AV ANTONINVS AVG, laureate cuirassed draped bust of Elagabalus/ SEPTIM TVR COL, Astarte standing, holding sceptre, erecting trophy, crowned by Nike on column, all in hexastyle temple; altar and murex shell before steps. Very special authentic coin Elagabalus’ name is not quite as notorious as that of Nero and Caligula, or even Commodus, recently featured as the villain in Russell Crowe’s Gladiator.
