Description

Role Summary: The Fleet Maintenance Officer is responsible for following up on all vehicle requirements to ensure the safe and reliable running of operations. Main Duties • Ensure high-standard maintenance of fleet, equipment, machinery tools and workshop (outsourced or internal) • Schedule and ensure the proactive maintenance of vehicles and related equipment • Follow up with drivers on all required repairs • Monitor fleet weight and balance as well as trucks’ check-ups, maintenance and performance • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies requirements and rules of accrediting bodies • Reduce cost of vehicle parts, especially DAF trucks part, by sourcing alternative suppliers • Ensure prolonged service life of vehicles Qualifications • A Technical degree (BT3) from an accredited institution • 2+ years’ experience in the same field Technical knowledge, skills & abilities required • Knowledge of vehicles and estimating cost of repairs • Compliance solutions • Accurate and timely data reporting • Knowledge of the principles and requirements of driver/employee safety Soft skills required • Ability to work under pressure • Aptitude for technology
