Job Summary:
The Fleet Acquisition Specialist is responsible for growing and maintaining the company’s driver network and fleet resources. This role focuses on building relationships, negotiating agreements, and ensuring a steady inflow of qualified drivers and vehicles to meet operational needs. The ideal candidate is a proactive deal-maker with strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the transportation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and recruit qualified drivers to join the company’s fleet.
Maintain a strong pipeline of potential drivers and fleet partners.
Build and maintain relationships with existing drivers to encourage retention and loyalty.
Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to understand fleet needs and driver requirements.
Conduct background checks, verify licenses, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for fleet growth.
Meet or exceed acquisition targets and report regularly on progress.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in fleet acquisition, driver recruitment, sales, or transportation logistics.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and licensing requirements.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Preferred:
Experience in the trucking, logistics, or transportation industry.
Familiarity with driver recruitment platforms and online marketplaces.
Key Metrics for Success:
Number of drivers recruited per month/quarter.
Fleet expansion achieved through negotiations and partnerships.
Retention rate of acquired drivers.
