Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, expanding the organization’s client base, and driving revenue growth. The role involves market analysis, proposal development, client engagement, and coordination with technical and operational teams to convert opportunities into successful contracts.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Growth & Market Development
• Identify, analyze, and pursue new business opportunities in target markets and sectors
• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities
• Client & Partnership Management
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, donors, partners, and stakeholders
• Represent the organization in meetings, networking events, and industry forums
• Develop strategic alliances and partnerships to expand service offerings
Proposal & Contract Development
• Lead the preparation of technical and financial proposals, expressions of interest, and tenders
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure proposals meet client and donor requirements
• Support contract negotiations and contribute to closing deals
• Sales & Revenue Generation
• Achieve agreed business development and revenue targets
• Maintain and regularly update the business pipeline and CRM systems
• Track leads, opportunities, and conversion rates
• Internal Coordination & Reporting
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and technical teams to ensure smooth project handover
• Prepare periodic reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and performance
• Contribute to pricing strategies and service packaging
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
• Previous Experience in this field
