A distinguished and decorative set of twelve oval Limoges enamel medallions, each finely painted in grisaille on a deep black ground, portraying Roman emperors in classical profile.
Each emperor is crowned with a hand-painted green laurel wreath — symbol of triumph and imperial authority — and inscribed in gilt Latin lettering. The portraits echo the refined aesthetic of ancient Roman coinage, reflecting the strong Neoclassical influence of 19th-century French decorative arts.
