Description
A rare set of original 1946–1947 British Mandate Palestine documents, linked to the German Templer community of Wilhelma and the Haar Brothers’ carpentry workshop in Haifa. The set includes: an official Templer letter stamped Tempelgemeinde Wilhelma requesting permission from British authorities in Jerusalem to sell workshop machinery; a tenancy contract for the Haar workshop on Carmel Avenue, Haifa; and an Arabic sale deed transferring the equipment to Ahmed Mahmud El Hindi of Jaffa, bearing Palestine Revenue stamps. These papers reflect the final years of the Mandate, capturing economic ties between German settlers, Palestinian buyers, and British administrators before 1948. A historically rich and well-preserved archival trio highly collectible for historians of Mandatory Palestine, German Templers, and pre-1948 Haifa.
