The Alpha 6400 can take up to eleven pictures per second with automatic focus tracking so that the photographer doesn't miss a single subject despite the unerring autofocus. The new generation of the BIONZ X processor is responsible for the excellent image quality - for both photos and 4K videos. The touch screen on the back of the camera can be rotated 180 degrees. All in all, the camera is an excellent tool for creative people - whether professional, ambitious amateur or Vlogger. The autofocus of the Alpha 6400 takes effect within 0.02 seconds. No wonder, because the new camera has some extras that are otherwise only available with the Alpha 9, Alpha 7 III and Alpha 7R III full-frame cameras. With 425 phase and 425 contrast autofocus points distributed close together over 84 percent of the sensor surface, the camera covers most of the viewfinder image. Combined with the power of the new BIONZ X processor, the camera reliably calculates the subject's position in focus and guides the focus point accordingly - no matter how fast the subject moves. With the "Real Time Eye Autofocus", Sony is further developing the well-known eye autofocus. Using artificial intelligence, the Alpha 6400 processes position information for both eyes and predicts the next position. In all autofocus modes, the camera automatically detects the subject's eyes and focuses on them as soon as the photographer half-presses the shutter button. In AF-C and AF-A mode, the photographer can manually select whether to focus on the left or right eye. This allows the photographer to concentrate exclusively on the composition of the motif. The camera does the rest. From summer 2019 there will also be a firmware update for the eye autofocus function especially for animals - perfect for house tigers and the wild. "Real Time Tracking" is another speciality of the new Alpha 6400. Thanks to Sony's latest algorithm plus artificial intelligence, the camera can track an object once it has been brought into focus with extreme precision. Object recognition includes colors, distance, patterns such as brightness, and spatial information in the motion prediction. The result: Once captured, the autofocus does not let go of the subject. With eleven frames per second with automatic focus tracking and mechanical shutter and a maximum of eight frames per second with full focus tracking with electronic shutter in noiseless mode, the camera is not only fast when it comes to autofocus, but also when it comes to continuous shooting. On request she shoots 116 JPEG photos or 46 RAW photos as a result. With the newly developed 24.2 megapixel APS-C sensor and the enhanced BIONZ X processor, the new Alpha 6400 can take on any shooting situation. The normal ISO range reaches its limit at ISO 32.000, but can be extended to ISO 102.400. Featuring several image processing algorithms from Sony's full-frame cameras, the Alpha 6400 manages to keep noise levels low and detail resolution high.
